The future of zero-emission cars is here. Honda had released a new zero-emission, hydrogen fuel cell car in Japan on Monday. The cars are headed to southern California, where a three-year lease will run for $600 a month, which includes maintenance and collision coverage. Among the first customers for the lease include actress Jamie Lee Curtis and film maker Christopher Guest, actress Laura Harris, film producer Ron Yerxa, and businessmen Jon Spallino and Jim Salomon.
The FCX Clarity runs on hydrogen to generate electricity, and thus will only emit water from its tailpipe. None of the gases released are believed to have an effect on climate change. This new car is two times more energy efficient that gas-electric hybrids and three times more energy efficient that of standard gasoline-powered cars.
